In late September, second grade traveled back in time… back in time to a school day in 1865!

@thegroveglenview features a reconstructed one room schoolhouse where a costumed schoolmaster led students through geography, history, spelling and math lessons as taught in that era.

Activities included reading from McGuffey Readers, writing on slate boards and using quill pens. Recess in the schoolyard included pioneer toys and old time games.
