A fledgling ladder below the exit gives the bluebirds additional traction. There is plenty of ventilation just under the roof line and drainage holes on the bottom to keep the nest dry. Nest Box Features: Recycled plastic and stainless steel screw construction, flip-down front panel, 1½” entry to keep out larger birds and predators, copper portal to maintain entry hole, grooved fledgling ladder below exit, and excellent drainage and ventilation. Pole Kit Features: Heavy-duty black powder-coated steel construction, strong 3 piece 1" diameter tubular pole, Twister Ground Socket twists 20" into the ground for extra stability, 68" Overall Height. Screws included. Optional baffle is constructed of galvanized steel and powder-coated black. Squirrel baffle measures 16-3/4" long and 6-1/4" in diameter. To keep squirrels from getting onto your bird feeders, place your pole 8-10' away from railings, roofs or trees. This prevents the squirrels from leaping over the baffle. Squirrel baffles should be mounted a minimum of 4' from the top of baffle to the ground.
