Grandparents Day Details

by admin | Sep 24, 2025 | Uncategorized

We are very excited to be hosting St. Elizabeth of the Trinity’s Grandparents/Special Person Day! We have over 150 visitors coming tomorrow. While we would love to have everyone attend our event, we are asking that only grandparents or a special person visit your students tomorrow – this day is not intended for parents. We understand that not all of our students have a grandparent in their life, which is why we have included a Special Person, such as a neighbor who is like a grandparent, or possibly an older aunt/uncle. Or, if your student does not have a special visitor, we will pair them up with another guest so that all our students feel a part of this special day. We will do our best to accommodate all 150+ visitors and hope the day is meaningful for everyone.

We invite our guests to our school mass at 8:30am in the church. At mass, we will connect students with their guests, and they can sit in the front of the church. Our National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students will help in connecting students and their visitors, as well as hosting the mass. We ask our visitors to arrive by 8:15 AM so we can connect them with their students before the 8:30 mass begins.

Our preschool and kindergarten classes will meet their Grandparents/Special Person outside the front of school at 8:15. If they have an older sibling, they can connect with them at mass AFTER connecting with the preschooler/kindergartner.

Following mass, our visitors will be escorted to the auditorium by their students, around 9:20/9:30, where our guests will enjoy a light breakfast and coffee provided by Parents Club. Students will return to their classrooms and prepare for their visitors. Around 10:00am our visitors will join our students in the classrooms. We will break up the hour into 20 minute increments, so that our guests can visit multiple classrooms. Our NJHS students will be in the hallways to direct our guests to other classrooms. At 11:00, we will thank our visitors for attending this special day, and have our NJHS students escort them to an exit closest to their parking spot.

If you have guests visiting our Junior High students, you may want to get a schedule from them so they know where to go and when!

Parking in front of our school on Ardmore after 8:05am is permitted on this day, as well as the church parking lot and the back parking lot off Moody Ave. Also, please remember that our building is NOT handicap accessible and there are stairs to get to our auditorium/1st floor as well as more stairs for our classes beyond kindergarten.

We are expecting a large crowd, we ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate our morning. Our goal is to ensure all our visitors have time with our students and get to enjoy St. Elizabeth!

Yours in Christ,

Kristine Hillmann, Ed.D.

Principal
